3 Tips to Help Protect Yourself Against Payment Scams

    1. Beware of scammers calls or texts requesting money request

First, beware of scammers impersonating as Law Enforcement, the government (including the IRS and Social Security), banks, credit card/software companies, and people asking you for money requests. Furthermore, if you were contacted via calls or texts by these parties, you are being scammed! You must hang up immediately!

    2. Question for Unusual Payment Request Scams

Next, scammers usually demand very specific form of payment for example cryptocurrency, online wires, or online payment apps. In addition, The Law Enforcement, IRS, Computer Support, and financial professionals will never direct you to deposit your money into Bitcoin of America ATM machines. If someone has told you that you must buy Bitcoin at Bitcoin of America ATM – STOP and immediately call our Help Desk at (888) 502-5003.

    3. Guard your Information to Prevent Scams

Lastly, do not share your temporary access code, PIN, of any other account information which could give others an access to send money in your name. For Instance, if a stranger asks you for this information, it could be a possible scammer. In conclusion, you should always have your passwords kept in a safe place where no one can access them.
